Swansea (UK) born raised. Previously Head of ICT at Sandfields Comprehensive School now a member of the Digital Learning Department at Microsoft Showcase School - Ysgol Bae Baglan. Prior to teaching I was an IT Project manager for a high profile UK charity that works with young people. In this role, part of my responsibilities was to managed an ICT training centre. I have also worked within the ICT industry for a large multi-national organisation with responsibilities for supporting local and national government ICT infrastructure (specialising in in the area of ICT security). During my time at Sandfields I have piloted national projects that have focused on e-safety and digital literacy(competency). This has required me to speak at national launches. I have also been invited to speak at events (called Hwbmeets) organised by the Welsh Governments Digital Team. At these events I have spoken to other teachers present on the topic of "Challenging On Line Behaviour". I am also an ambassador for CEOP. In 2015 I was invited to be involved, with pupils from my school, in the production of the Safer Internet Day video campaign.
I am involved in the mentoring of trainee teachers and have held posts of subject mentor and currently senior mentor - responsible for all trainee teachers placed at our school across all subjects and the management of all subject mentors. I am currently on the pastoral leadership team in school, in the role of Assistant Head of Year 8, having previously held post of Head of Year 7, Assistant Head of Year 7 and Assistant Head of Year 9.
Thilled to have been selected as a MIE Expert 2016!
Even though I am Swansea born, I have been a life long fan of Everton Football Club and enjoy visits to watch them play when I can. Love watching rugby, especially the Opsreys and of course Wales. Having three young children a lot of time is spent with them. Its thrilling to see my daughters taking such in interest in technology and using their devices not only for entertainment but also in creative ways.
